Meet The New SpongeBob SquarePants Blindbox Collection

We've gone back to Bikini Bottom with the release of Freeny's Hidden Dissectibles: SpongeBob SquarePants (Classic Edition)!

A few years ago, we released the first ever Freeny's Hidden Dissectibles: SpongeBob SquarePants blindbox collection with FYE. The exclusive nature of that release made it unavailable to many of you, and we received a whole lot of requests asking to bring it to more places.

This time, no matter where you are, you can order the Freeny's Hidden Dissectibles: SpongeBob SquarePants (Classic Edition)! Hooray! Every piece in the collection features pie cutout eyes, reminiscent of retro cartoons. The muted sepia colours give the pieces more colour contrast than a standard monochrome finish, and plays up the retro influences.

Lets meet the collection and learn a little bit more about our favourite Bikini Bottom dwellers.

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS

The iconic yellow sponge! Known for his braying laugh and positive attitude towards life, SpongeBob is the most recognisable resident of Bikini Bottom (his name is the title of the show after all).

SpongeBob lives in a Pineapple with his pet snail Gary, and is neighbours with his best friend Patrick and co-worker Squidward. SpongeBob works as a fry cook in the Krusty Krab - a job he absolutely adores. Do you love your job as much as SpongeBob does?

SpongeBob is definitely far from an introvert, but he has given introverts everywhere an anthem - the indoors song.

PATRICK STAR

SpongeBob's best friend is the naive and overweight starfish - Patrick! Possibly the dumbest resident in Bikini Bottom, Patrick does have unexpected moments of brilliance much to the surprise of everyone.

The self-proclaimed expert in the "art-of-doing-nothing" has given us many memorable moments in the cartoon, none more so than "Is mayonnaise an instrument?"

GARY THE SNAIL

Gary the Snail, full name Garold Wilson, is SpongeBob's pet! Gary has similar mannerisms to a cat, most notably his "meow". SpongeBob adopted Gary from an animal shelter and Gary has lived in the iconic Pineapple ever since.

Much like real cats, Gary hates taking baths (though he is in a perpetual bath because... they live underwater). Give Gary a meow!

Now that we've met the iconic trio, lets see who is up next!

SQUIDWARD TENTACLES

Probably as iconic as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Gary, the resident grump of Bikini Bottom is none other than Squidward! Like SpongeBob, he works at the Krusty Krab but unlike SpongeBob, Squidward hates his job.

Regularly annoyed by SpongeBob and Patrick, Squidward has been unhappy ever since the Pineapple house fell onto his yard and SpongeBob moved in. He believes he has more than enough talent for everyone, but his clarinet playing skills do seem to be lacking some times...

At least Squidward is a treasure trove of nihilist jokes!

MR KRABS

Owner of the Krusty Krab, boss of SpongeBob and Squidward, and father of whale - it is Mr Krabs! The famously money loving Mr Krabs savours every penny and dime. He treats money better than he does his employees and daughter, but he is also as protective of the Krabby Patty formula. Would you say he cares about the formula as much as he does money?

He goes to great lengths to protect it from his nemesis Plankton, but if Plankton doesn't make any attempts for a certain length of time, Mr Krabs begins to lose his sanity.

Protect your sanity with this "therapeutic" clip of Mr Krabs counting money. Or as I would call it - electric zoo beats to count money to.

PLANKTON

The main antagonist of the cartoon, and sworn enemy of Mr Krabs. Plankton runs the Chum Bucket from across the street to the Krusty Krab - but to far lesser success. His main goal is not to turn his business around, but to run the Krusty Krab out of business by stealing the secret formula.

Plankton and Mr Krabs were both born on the same day, their rivalry was destined! Plankton has a computer wife, Karen, who he loves deeply - as evident by his singing of "Oh My Karen".

We're down to the last 3 characters of the collection now, lets give them a hello!

SANDY CHEEKS

Sandy is a squirrel from Texas that lives in a treedome in Bikini Bottom. She is one of the most intelligent and level headed characters on the show; a multi-talented scientist and inventor and originally came to Bikini Bottom to study sea creatures and their lifestyles - her study probably isn't coming along too well considering the bunch she finds herself with.

Of all the characters in the show, Sandy is the best at karate! She packs a mean jab with her green karate gear but she also sings her heart out on her guitar. She's truly one talented squirrel!

MERMAID MAN

Mermaid Man, real name Ernie, is a semi-retired superhero who lives in Bikini Bottom. Revered by SpongeBob and Patrick, Mermaid Man is their version of our Superman and Batman. Mermaid Man is a parody of Aquaman, even sharing similar powers and costumes. But unlike Aquaman, he is way older and a little out of it.

Mermaid Man's "eviiiillll" cry has even taken a life of its own these days!

BARNACLE BOY

Real name Tim, Barnacle Boy is Mermaid Man's sidekick. Despite being semi-retired and as old as Mermaid Man, he is still referred to as a boy. He doesn't like it and momentarily turned evil in a bid to get everyone to call him "Barnacle Man".

Barncale Boy is also really grouchy, just like Squidward. Might be a trait with big noses in Bikini Bottom...

Now that we've met all 9 regular characters and enjoyed some of our favourite moments from SpongeBob, let's meet the rare chaser variants! You're gonna want to get these guys!

Inspired by the Gold Rush period that swept the world, the rare and ultra rare variants are suggestive of the precious materials they are named after. Featuring the stylised retro eye design, while keeping recognisable character traits, these chasers are predominantly single coloured.

There is a 1/24 chance of getting the RARE silver Patrick and Gary, while you have a 1/48 chance of getting the ULTRA RARE gold SpongeBob. Consider yourself really lucky if you get any of these guys from the Freeny's Hidden Dissectibles: SpongeBob SquarePants (Classic Edition).
