1. He LOVES pizzas (how apt right?)

During the first episode of the 2012 series, "Rise of the Turtles, Part 1", Mikey was the one who introduced his brothers to pizza. He was so obsessed with pizzas that throughout the seasons, he would be seen eating pizzas off the ground and even those found in trash cans. Yikes.

2. Mikey was named after the Renaissance Italian artist Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni

Despite being named after one of the most famous Renaissance artists in the world, his name was initially misspelled as Michaelangelo.

3. Michelangelo was the OG and also the very last turtle

He was used as the prototype turtle, which then inspired the creation of the other characters. Initially known as the weakest of the group, Michelangelo was later portrayed as a bold character in ‘The Last Ronin,’ where he swore vengeance for his brothers. 

4. He is an animal lover 

Throughout the cartoon series, Mikey has demonstrated his love and empathy for animals such as adopting a stray kitten named Klunk and often befriending other animals.
