Rumor has it that a hype little beast has been sneaking around lately. That's right, Cheeky Mouse by Johnny Draco has put on his best kicks and is ready to follow you home this weekened! We had the pleasure of having a chat and putting together a visual interview with the artist behind this raving rodent, Johnny Draco.

Yeah thanks for taking the time out to interview me. Well, to begin, my name is Johnny Draco, and I'm a visual artist x designer. Was born in Wiesbaden, Germany from military home. Moved around a bit and ended up spending most of my childhood in Atlanta, GA. Went to school at the historically African American college Morehouse.

While I was there I studied Political Science with the hope of being a lawyer in the military. Went slightly off track by interning at ABV gallery under Greg Mike which turned my perspective on art. Began focusing more on art with the hopes of eventually working at my dream job Kidrobot, which is where I ended up 3 years later after I graduated. While at Kidrobot, I got my first 5 inch Dunny produced by Kidrobot, a 3 inch Dunny in the Wild Ones series, as well as the 8 inch Plush Guts Dunny.

And now here we are with the exciting release of Cheeky Mouse.

I work on a wide range of mediums, but I have to say my favorite is acrylic. Since I started out painting with acrylics as a kid, I just find that to be the most comfortable to use.

My dream collaboration would be to work with Nike on a shoe. I've always had fascinations with air max shoes since I was younger, and would love to put my talents on something that I've never touched.

A typical day for me when I'm not at work includes me waking up and reading a bit. Reading helps me get my creativity going whether that is a book or some article on Cool Hunting. I usually follow that up by starting out the morning painting. This really eases me into the day and relaxes me. Usually go between painting and design work on a daily basis. Sometime, even work on some animation. That's when I've been having a lot of time learning since I'm teaching myself as I go.
